A small studio in Bath, building private cinemas across Britain.
Finest Home Cinemas is a small studio operating out of Bath with twenty years of installation craft behind every room we build. We have built cinemas in waterfront Sandbanks houses, in Georgian Bath townhouses, and in the lower wings of coastal estates in Cornwall. We are not a multi-brand AV reseller; we are a cinema builder who has spent two decades learning which manufacturers we can stand behind and which trades we can rely on.
The work is small on purpose. We turn down more projects than we take. The rooms we build take months — sometimes more than a year — from first conversation to final calibration, and the way we work would not scale to ten parallel cinemas. We choose, instead, to be the right firm for a small number of clients each year.
How we work
Acoustics first. Equipment second. The order of those decisions is the difference between a room that sounds right and a room that does not — and almost every cinema that lands at our door for re-work has had that order reversed by whoever built it first. The five stages are described here, with honest timescales.
We do not subcontract calibration. The hand-finishing — the hour where the room stops being a list of equipment and starts being a cinema — is done by us, in the room, with the client present if they want to be.
We are a CEDIA member — the international trade association for the home cinema and smart home industry.
We do not chase volume. We are not a national firm. We work in Bath and the Cotswolds, in London, in Poole and Sandbanks, in Cornwall — and across the drivable South where the brief is right. We will travel further when the project earns the journey, and we will say so honestly when it does not. The recent rooms show where that discipline ends up.
