A Steinway Lyngdorf cinema in Midford, near Bath.
A professional-grade dedicated cinema, built into a full interior renovation near Bath, around a Dolby Atmos Steinway Lyngdorf system. The brief asked for a room that would handle both feature-film viewing and the owners' work in film and television production — reference-grade headroom and clarity, without the room ever feeling clinical.
We chose the Steinway turnkey path here for two reasons. The wider renovation meant the acoustic plan and the architecture could be designed in sympathy from first principles, not bolted on afterwards. And Steinway Lyngdorf’s model-based RoomPerfect digital correction lets us preserve the architectural intent — the room reads as a beautiful private space first, and a cinema second.
Because the cinema was designed inside a whole-house renovation rather than after it, the lighting and finishes were coordinated across the room scheme from the start. The equipment specification followed the room, not the other way round — the ordering that sits behind every cinema we build.
Calibration was done in-house, as it is on every room we hand over. For owners who work in film and television, the difference between a room that flatters and a room that tells the truth is the point of the commission.
A room like this starts with a conversation.
Tell us where the project is, roughly the size of the room, and roughly when you'd like it finished. We will come back within two working days.
